Ashok Srivastava is a revered aviation stalwart with 47 years of exemplary leadership and operational excellence across India’s civil aviation regulatory authorities, major international gateways, and academic institutions. Commencing his career as an Air Traffic Controller with the DGCA in 1978, he went on to dedicate over three decades to the International Airports Authority of India (IAAI) and Airports Authority of India (AAI), retiring as Deputy Airport Director and General Manager (Operations) at NSCBI Airport, Kolkata. Throughout his distinguished tenure across India's premier aviation hubs—including New Delhi (IGI), Kolkata (NSCBI), Chennai, Mumbai, and Trivandrum—he has steered landmark civil aviation projects. He served as the AAI CHQ Designated Coordinator for the commissioning of CAT-III Instrument Landing System (ILS) operations at Kolkata, spearheaded the commissioning of the Airport Operations Control Centre (AOCC) pilot project at Chennai in 2014, and led the commissioning of major passenger terminals including NDTC & NITC Chennai, Terminal 1B Mumbai, and NDTC Calcutta. His operational leadership also enabled the successful introduction of Code-F Boeing 747-8F operations at Chennai Airport. A passionate educator and prolific author, Mr. Srivastava has authored the authoritative five-part 'Handbook for Airport Operation Personnel', covering ICAO Annex 14 / DGCA CAR, Airport Emergency Planning, Wildlife Hazard Management, Human Factors, and Safety Management Systems (SMS). He is an authorized instructor with the Indian Aviation Academy (IAA), an IATA-recognized instructor across 13 certified courses, and has served as Professor of Practice (Aviation Management) at Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science (HITS) as well as Business Development Head & Mentor at JT Aviation College.
